Invest in Pomerania Delegation Visits Kaohsiung to Deepen Taiwan–Poland Semiconductor Cooperation｜1 Sept 2026
On 1 September, a delegation led by Invest in Pomerania visited the Southern Taiwan IC Design Promotion Hub for the "Pomerania Semiconductor Industry Exchange & Matchmaking." The delegation brought together Poland's regional investment agency, academic institutions, and semiconductor companies, traveling to Kaohsiung during SEMICON Taiwan. As a driving force behind southern Taiwan's industry, the STIPC (NSYSU) also invited IC design and system-integration companies from southern Taiwan to join, enabling substantive exchange between the two sides and aiming to build a bridge for cooperation in IC design and advanced technology.

Connecting Taiwanese and Polish transnational resources to help Taiwanese companies explore overseas business opportunities
Invest in Pomerania is the official investment promotion agency of Poland's Pomerania region. The delegation spanned a wide range of fields - including IC design, semiconductor IP, advanced materials, and photonics, alongside academic institutions such as the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and Warsaw University of Technology, reflecting the depth of Poland's semiconductor value chain.
Dr. Jen-Hao Teng, Director of STIPC, noted that the day's exchange marked a starting point for building a bridge between Taiwan and Poland. STIPC works in partnership with the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs to advance the development of southern Taiwan's smart electronics industry, using the Southern Taiwan IC Design Promotion Hub as its base. Its work focuses on attracting IC design companies, connecting them with EDA and IP resources, and combining regional industry settings with university-based talent cultivation to develop high-level professionals and help international partners connect with southern Taiwan's industrial capabilities. He expressed hope that the exchange would lead to long-term cooperation with Polish government, industry, and academia, while helping Taiwanese companies expand into international markets.

Showcase the strength of the southern semiconductor industry and promote technological exchange between Taiwanese and Polish companies.
The "Pomerania Semiconductor Industry Exchange & Matchmaking" featured technology presentations and matchmaking, with Taiwanese and Polish companies introducing their technologies and products and exploring collaboration during the open networking session. The Polish delegation also shared insights on Pomerania's industrial environment, science-park advantages, and investment information, helping companies on both sides assess future collaboration and market opportunities.
STIPC continues to promote two-way links between southern Taiwan's semiconductor industry and international markets. Following earlier engagements with Japan and Singapore, this exchange with Poland marks an important step in building European partnerships - laying the groundwork for deeper long-term cooperation between Taiwan and Europe in the semiconductor field.
